Jersey Post crack case of the missing booties

Jersey Post has taken big steps to deliver some little booties to one young Islander - with a helping hand from the Mums In Jersey Facebook Group.

Four-month-old Freya Smith was sent the new baby present at the end of last year but they couldn’t be delivered to her because her postie couldn’t find an address on the parcel.

Jersey Post tried one last attempt on social media to find out who they were meant for and thanks to all the responses, managed to track down Freya’s mum and give her the booties.

Customer Services Manager Susan Stubbs said: "We do make every attempt to make sure items are delivered to the intended recipients, unfortunately, there was no indication of the delivery or sender's address, so we decided to try social media, the Mums in Jersey Facebook page, in a further attempt to locate the rightful owners of the baby gifts. We were so pleased when we received a response and could finally deliver the items."

Freya’s mum Anika Spanswick said: “I'm just delighted to receive this and my friends that sent it will be happy it turned up at last."

Jersey Post are urging Islanders to remember to put their return address on their parcels so that if posties can't deliver them, they can be sent back promptly.
