Islanders who are nervous swimmers or cyclists are being encouraged to dive into new experiences with two programmes aimed at getting them pedalling and in the water.
Jersey Sport has set up the ‘Move More Swim’ and ‘Adult Learn to Ride’ programmes to help both those who are beginners, or who are uncomfortable and want to hone their techniques in 2022.
'Move More Swim' will take place once a week over 12 weeks at Les Quennevais Centre swimming pool.
It will be split into two classes - the beginners' class will start in the shallow warm pool to begin with, and focus on gaining confidence in the water, and basic swimming skills.
The intermediate classes are on offer for those who want to improve their range of swimming strokes, techniques, skills, and fitness - people wishing to participate in this class will need to be confident in the pool out of their depth and be able to swim from one end of the 25m pool to the other.

Meanwhile, 'Adult Learn to Ride' courses will help adult beginners who can't yet ride a bike or are unconfident doing so.
There will be four six-week courses throughout 2022, two of which are based at the Freedom Tree in St. Helier and two of which are based at the Les Quennevais cycle track.
Cirsty de Gruchy, Head of Move More Jersey said: "If you've thought about learning how to swim or ride a bike this year as one of your new year's resolutions, now's your chance!
"Our Move More Jersey classes are a great way to meet new people, and a great way to improve your fitness.
"We're delighted to have developed our new Move More Swim programme to increase islanders' swimming skills and thrilled to be running Move More Learn to Ride for adults, to enable more people to cycle and actively travel."
The cycling sessions are free and islanders can sign up here. The swimming sessions cost £60 for 12 sessions, £48 for 12 sessions for over-65s and are free to those on Income Support, and islanders can sign up here.
