A pair of JCG students have been named as 'London Designer of the Year' at sustainable fashion competition with a dress made from more than 500 recycled magazine pages.
The annual 'Junk Kouture' competition sees students from across the world put forward designs made from recycled materials.
JCG Year 13 students Anaya Kogi and Lorenza Nimmo qualified for the final of the prestigious competition with their design 'Media's Jiometori'.
Anaya travelled to Monaco to model her design on the show's runway this week – and came back with the prize.
According to Junk Kouture, their design "boldly challenges societal norms and perceptions of beauty".
Their design was described as "a tribute to the pioneering work of Japanese artists Issey Miyake and Junya Watanabe, with a specific nod towards Miyake's iconic silhouettes and Watanabe's Fall 2015 collection".
Junk Kouture hold an annual fashion design competition for students aged 13 to 18, encouraging them to be creative and sustainable at the same time.
The world final saw 60 designs – selected from regional finals in New York, Paris, Milan, Dublin, and Abu Dhabi – compete in front of a panel of judges.

Anaya and Lorenza's design is not the first time JCG has been recognised by the JunkKouture judges, with three sixth form students also making it to the 2022 world finals in Abu Dhabi last year.
