An Olympic medal-winning Brownlee brother will be joining seven other professional athletes in a beach clean at West Park next week.

Before the Super League action gets underway, Jonny Brownlee is mucking in at the 'Big JT Beach Clean', which will take place next Thursday from 15:30.

Organised in association with Little Feet Environmental and Jersey Marine Conservation, JT’s chosen charities for 2018, the walk will also involve: Richard Murray (South Africa), Jonas Schomberg (German), Jonny Brownlee, Richard Varga (Slovakia), Summer Cook (United States), Sophie Coldwell (Great Britain), Danielle De Francesco (Australia) and Cassandre Beaugrand (France). They will also be joined by the Lieutenant-Governor and Lady Dalton.

And islanders are allowed to get involved too, making the most of the opportunity to meet the high-speed professionals before they get to the nitty gritty competing around the Harbour and Waterfront.

Christophe Chateau, JT’s Head of Culture and Employee Engagement, said he'd love to see "as many people as possible to come down to the area in front of La Frégate Café."

"The eyes of the world will be on that part of Jersey in the following days, so we want to make sure Jersey is looking its very best. It should be a great community event, with the charities, athletes, team JT and the people of Jersey taking part," he commented.

It's not the end of JT's involvement with the triathlon. As the official Technology Partner, will also be running the free Fan Zone – an area above the Waterfront car park including live music, food and drink, children’s activities and a ‘tech zone’ for adults and children alike to test their sporting prowess in a virtual reality world.

Michael D’Hulst, CEO and co-founder of Super League Triathlon, added: “At Super League Triathlon, we are passionate about being a sustainable company and reducing our impact on the world. Our athletes share this passion as they are out in nature training for so much of the year. We will be reducing the use of plastic as much as possible across the RBC Super League Jersey event, helped by JT.

"Come along to the JT Beach Clean and join our athletes to keeping Jersey and our oceans clean.”
