It doesn’t matter whether you've been naughty or nice this year you could still be in for a bumper windfall this Christmas.
Thanks to a little help from Santa who launched this year's draw, tickets have gone on sale for the Channel Islands Christmas lottery.
The jackpot starts at £300,000 but if last year’s anything to go by that figure will quickly rise with ticket sales. Last Christmas the lucky winner took home more than £1 million.
Each ticket gives you two chances of winning a prize in the main draw and you can also win up to £5,000 with the scratch card. The second-draw prize is £50,000, the third-draw prize is £25,000 and there are 50 prizes of £500.
Lottery ticket sales throughout last year helped raise almost £700,000 for local charities, up almost £300,000 on the year before.
The money helped fund a major refurbishment at Little Sisters of the Poor and meant St John Ambulance could buy a replacement support vehicle.
Other organisations to benefit included Jersey Cancer Trust, Jersey Hospice Care, Jersey Brain Tumour Charity and Brighter Futures.
