The two-day street party, which is back on St. Helier's streets for the sixth consecutive year to celebrate the island's capital, kicks off today with live music, food stalls and parades.
The Fête de St Hélier takes place from 10:00 to 20:00 today and tomorrow, spanning the stretch between Broad Street and the Parade Gardens.
The opening parade for the party will take place this afternoon at 12:00, starting in West’s Centre and ending in the Parade.
The event will feature live music, over 30 local arts and crafts stalls and a food village including the annual Norman Market, which will be incorporated into the Fête for the first time ever.

There will be ten traders from Normandy selling authentic food and drink from the area, including a cheese stall and a cider-maker, bringing a taste of the region to Jersey’s biggest parish.
Daphne East, the Town Centre Manager, told Express that she is really looking forward to the event.
"It's very exciting that it's become an annual event which celebrates all the diversity in the Parish of St. Helier. We're very excited to have our St. Helier ambassadors opening the Fête with the Band of Jersey," she said.

Ms East continued: "We're also going to have a range of stallholders from Genuine Jersey to different charities and the food element is something that's very unique to Jersey with a mix of French and Portuguese cuisines. It's also the first year that we've invited the French market to join the Fête, which we're really happy about."
Islanders are reminded that Broad Street, Charing Cross, York Street and the Lower Parade will be closed to traffic from 18:00 on Friday 13thJuly to 20:00 on Sunday 15thJuly.
