Monday 26 December 2022

Over the Christmas period, Express is bringing you a series of festive songs and covers from across the island's diverse music scene, from original works to instrumental covers and pop classics.

Today is the turn of Georgina Faulkner.

Georgina is a concert pianist and sound artist currently leading classes in sound healing on the island.

She graduated from the Royal College of Music in London with a BMus First Class Honours Degree and subsequently taught around London including Imperial College University, Little London Music School in Knightsbridge and now privately in Jersey.

Her first EP of piano covers ‘Pastiche’ recorded with sound engineer, Wilson Nash, and supported by Art House Jersey will be out in Spring 2023.

Georgina described her choice of tune as a “a timeless classic that you can’t go wrong with!"

"I have arranged many Christmas songs but I always come back to this one as my favourite as the tone, melody and flourishes change every time I play it - I really just feel it intuitively with where my fingers want to go," she said.
