Lockdown will now last until mid-May, after the Health Minister signed an order to extend it by two weeks.
The 'Stay at Home' order was originally due to expire at the end of this month.
However, the government announced this afternoon that it would now remain in place until 11 May following a reccommendation from the Medical Officer for Health, Dr Ivan Muscat.
It comes as jurisdictions across Europe are beginning to lift some of their own lockdown measures.
Video: Express asked the Chief Minister and Health Minister about their plans to ease lockdown at a press conference this afternoon.
At a press conference this afternoon, the Chief Minister said that Jersey is not behind, but that they have instead now fallen in line with the level of lockdown originally imposed in Jersey on 30 March.
Giving an example, he said that some countries were only just allowing window cleaners to go back to work, whereas Jersey's government had allowed them to continue working under social distancing rules.
He added that more detailed plans about how Jersey will be easing out of lockdown will be announced next week.
