Longueville crash victim still in hospital

Tuesday 29 April 2014

A 21 year-old man is still in a stable condition in hospital after a crash on Longueville Road in St Saviour in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Firefighters and paramedics had to cut the man free from his car which had ended up on its roof outside a shop just down the road from Longueville Manor.

The man was travelling eastwards when the crash happened at about 2.30 am and the road was closed for most of Saturday morning as the police examined the scene.

Officers are still investigating the cause of the accident and anyone who saw a silver coloured Ford Cougar being driven from town to Longueville Road between 2 am and 2.30 am is asked to contact the police on 612 612 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Watch Commander Ryan Hall said: “Looking at the wreckage, it is amazing that the driver's injuries were not more serious. However, with the extreme impact of the collision it was fortunate that there was no passengers inside the vehicle or we would have certainly been dealing with a more serious incident.”
