A popular beach café at Bouley Bay was able to re-open in time for the bank holiday weekend after being forced to relocate a few yards down the slipway.
Customers flooded to Mad Mary's café during its first weekend back, according to owner Mary Tunney – who goes by "Mad Mary".
Mary said that loyal customers including both locals and tourists had gone out of their way to stop off at the café to celebrate the re-opening on Saturday.
One couple, named Mark and Sarah, had got off the plane from the UK, rushed to Bouley Bay in a taxi to visit Mary's café for 45 minutes, before immediately catching a ferry to France.
"So many people came down," Mary said. "It's just amazing."
She mentioned that support on her Facebook page had "gone ballistic", with her post about the reopening shared over 150 times.
One customer, Karen Louise commented: "So happy to have you back reopen Mary.
"First course eaten....now for my long awaited carrot cake – which I've missed almost as much as YOU!
"With the Bouley Bay Dive Centre in their new premise and the pontoon out its great to see Bouley bay 'open' again."
Reopening the café represented a lot of work, Mary stressed, as she thanked the Constable of Trinity Philip Le Sueur.
Jersey Property Holdings and Jersey Electricity had also been instrumental, she added.
"If I rang them, they just came down, they just helped me," said Mary.
Mad Mary's beach café is open seven days a week from 09:30 in its new location at the top of the slipway at Bouley Bay.
