An “inspiring” man who has worked at a St Brelade-based hotel since he was 17 has been praised for his 50 years of service.
Maintenance coordinator Alan Ronxin – who is responsible for overseeing health, safety, and fire systems while also providing advice – started working at L'Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa in 1974.
Alan began his career as a maintenance junior, following in the footsteps of his family members who also worked at the hotel.
His father was part of the maintenance team, while his siblings worked as a receptionist and pastry chef.
Over Alan's career, Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh in 1978 have stayed at the hotel, as well as celebrities like Bruce Forsyth and Terry Wogan.
Alan said: "I've been blessed to work at a place I love, surrounded by people who feel like family.
"The bay, the hotel, and the variety of tasks keep me energised.
"I'm looking forward to reaching the next milestone, as long as my health allows."
General Manager Thomas Burford said: "Alan's commitment to L'Horizon is inspiring.
"His knowledge, work ethic, and the genuine care he shows for our guests and team members embody our core values.
"We're incredibly grateful for his 50 years of service and look forward to many more."
