Jersey’s Fire Service were called out just after 21:00 yesterday after reports of smoke issuing from an industrial property on West Hill, St Helier.
Two crews were initial sent, but extra crews had to be drafted as the situation got steadily worse.
Eventually four engines and 18 firefighters were in attendance. Crews used breathing apparatus and five water jets to try and bring the blaze under control. The area had to be closed to traffic.
No further details have been released. Although damage is believed to be extensive, so far there have been no reports of anyone being injured.
