A 20-year-old man has appeared in the Magistrate’s Court, accused of possessing thousands of MDMA tablets with an estimated street value of up to £150,000.
Joshua James Cauvain came before Magistrate Bridget Shaw this morning.
He was charged under the Misuse of Drugs Law 1978 with possessing a commercial quantity of Class A drugs – between 3,000 and 5,000 MDMA tablets – with an estimated street value of between £60,000 and £150,000 and intending to supply them.
Magistrate Shaw deemed the case to be too serious to be dealt with in the Magistrate’s Court and referred it to the Royal Court.
Mr Cauvain was remanded in custody in the meantime and is next due to appear in the Royal Court on 18 September 2023.
