A man has appeared in court for allegedly stealing over £1,500 from his employer, and changing computer data, over a six-month period.

37-year-old Matthew Ramsey Collins, from Jersey, appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday charged with six counts of theft and two counts of computer misuse, whilst he worked at Clegg Gifford.

Mr Collins is accused of stealing £1,551 from the insurance broker between 24 August 2017 and 8 December 2017, in lump sums varying between £60 and £786.

He also faces two charges of computer misuse when he allegedly changed data without authorisation.

Magistrate Bridget Shaw has released Mr Collins on bail and ordered him back in court on 30 April 2018.
