A group of islanders who know first-hand the impact of heart conditions will be attempting to walk a marathon at the end of this month to raise funds for the Jersey Heart Support Group.
Sarah Le Gresley and her friends Adele, Luke and Simon are set to take on the 26.2 mile endeavour on Sunday 29 September, which is World Heart Day.
Starting at Le Fregate, the fundraiser will see the group make their way along the front to St Aubin, up the Railway Walk to Corbière and then along the Five Mile Road to L'Etacq before heading all the way back.
"At L'Etacq we will be joined by another two walkers, Caroline and Jess for the return leg," Sarah added.
"We’re looking at around seven to eight hours to complete the walk."
The group knows first-hand the impact of heart conditions and is hoping to raise £1200 to help cover the cost of a defibrillator and cabinet for the Jersey Heart Support Group.

In Sarah's case, both her husband and her nephew live with heart conditions.
Adele’s father also underwent open heart surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital ten years ago and is currently being monitored by the cardiac team locally.
Simon suffered a minor heart attack while working from home in July 2020, resulting in an urgent hospital visit, though fortunately there was no major damage and he has since been treated with medication and given a clean bill of health.
"There was meant to be a 25-mile walk called 'The Heart and Sole challenge' but sadly it had to be cancelled due to lack of numbers," Sarah noted.
"However we didn't want the charity to miss out on any potential sponsorship so we have decided to still undertake the challenge, but added on a little extra to make it a full marathon distance."
