The massive search for missing electrician Adrian Lynch has entered its third day, with police again urging Islanders to check their properties, land and vehicles for the 20-year-old.
Officers kept up the search last night – focussing on the spot where he was last seen at around 2 am on Saturday morning outside Bon Air Riding Stables.
His wallet and phone were found not far away, and there were reports yesterday that his belt was also found nearby.
Around 4,000 leaflets were dropped off to homes around St Lawrence, St Mary and St John with a full description of Adrian, and urging people to help with the search.
A team of around 60 people spent part of Sunday and Monday looking for him – accompanied by the Channel Islands Air Search aircraft, as well as police dogs, drones and divers.
Chief Inspector Lee Turner said: “We understand that members of the public want to help, I am a parent myself and there is an overwhelming urge to do what you can for this young man.
“We have regularly continued to review the tremendous offer of support from well-meaning and concerned members of the public.
“During the last two days we have been able to deploy at any one time upwards of 50 trained professionals to undertake searching in an organised and methodical way of the identified areas.
“This will continue in to day three and having taken National advice and assessed the requirements for the next 24 hours the level of resourcing we currently have available will allow us to do the focused searches we have planned.
“The best support members of the public can undertake within this area is to ensure, however unlikely, Adrian isn’t holed up somewhere with their garden, grounds or outbuildings.”
