Two more candidates have declared for the October election.
Christian May (30), who works in business development at law firm Baker and Partners, has announced that he will run for Deputy in St Helier No 3, and Philip Le Sueur, a former honorary policeman who worked in construction management, has announced that he will stand to succeed Trinity Constable John Le Sueur Gallichan who is stepping down after 13 years in the States.
The elections take place on 15th October.
Mr May is a qualified Barrister and the founder of voter engagement project change.je, but has stepped down from it to concentrate on the campaign.
He said: “If elected, I hope to bring a balance of vigour with practical legal and business experience to the Chamber.
“I am also committed to work hard to restore public confidence in the Island’s elected representatives that has eroded significantly in recent years.“
Mr Le Sueur has been involved with parish life in Trinity for almost 20 years – he has been a Centenier and Chef de Police (senior Centenier) and is currently a Procureur du Bien Publique, one of two officials who advise the Constable and oversee the accounts.
He said: “I have enjoyed working with the present Connėtable throughout his term of office. I have enormous respect for John, and I am acutely aware that whoever is elected will have a difficult act to follow. I am proud to have played an active role in the delivery of the first phase of Trinity’s scheme of homes for life, and would like to see that development through to completion.”
