A mum has admitted in the Magistrate's Court that she falsified details on her child’s birth certificate in order to start the youngster in school early.
The 39-year-old changed the child’s birthday by a month so that the child would be included in the school year above.
The falsification meant the government paid more than £7,600 for the child’s nursery education a year before they were eligible.
The Magistrate’s Court heard that it was not the woman’s first fraud charge.

Assistant Magistrate Adam Clarke decided to postpone sentencing to allow for a pre-sentence report.
The woman was released on bail until 15 April.
