Island Energy has confirmed that the area of Palmyra Road in St Helier has now been "made safe" following a gas leak this morning.
The utility company was called to the scene after a "gas supply was damaged by a third party".
Islanders were urged to avoid the area this morning following the gas leak, and residents were asked to stay indoors and keep windows closed.
In a statement issued this afternoon, Island Energy said: "We have today attended a property on Palmrya Road after a gas supply was damaged by a third party.
"Our team have been onsite and made safe and we’re now completing works.
"Our engineers responded quickly once informed about the damage and fixed the issue.
"We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
Jersey Fire and Rescue Service crews were also called to Palmrya Road this morning, but have now stood down.
