Parish officials say drivers who are ignoring the new road layout near where a three-year-old toddler was run over and killed are putting “themselves and other road users at great risk”.
There was much criticism about the road layout around Millennium Park following the death of Clinton Pringle in June last year, and last month changes were introduced.
But, parish officials who’ve been monitoring traffic in the area over the past three weeks say “it is apparent that a significant number of drivers are not paying attention to the signage”. There are fears there could be another accident.
They’ve issued a ‘gentle reminder’ to motorists to drive with care and attention, and to take notice of the signs. But, they also warn drivers they may have to attend a Parish Hall enquiry if they’re caught breaking the law and that they could be fined up to £1,000.
