It might not have been snappy to make, but the result is truly jaw-some.
Zimbabwe-born Pippa Barrow is a self-taught artist and sculptor, with what she defines as a "slightly eccentric background."
After qualifying as a goldsmith in South Africa, she moved to London to work as an assistant to the artist-jeweller Wendy Ramshaw for eight years, as well as designing and producing catwalk ranges for Alexander McQueen and Givenchy during this time.

She then decided to pursue a lifelong ambition to work with wildlife, gaining a degree in Zoology at King's Collage, London. It was only after graduation that Pippa moved to Jersey to work with the gorilla group at Durell.
In 2009, Pippa took the decision to return to a full-time career in design and making, setting up her sculpting and casting studio with the aim to combine her love of making and fascination with nature in her artwork.
She now works from her studio in St. Helier as a life-caster and sculptor working primarily in cold-cast bronze, as well as foundry bronze, silver, mixed media and resin.
Her favourite piece that she created this year is a commission entitled 'Sharky'.
Pippa explains that "the challenge was to create a sharks-head sculpture, designed to be mounted opposite a bespoke lighting installation of shoaling porcelain fish."

She added: "The piece took three months to make, from sculpting the clay model, to casting the final piece in a marble dust/resin mix. Each tooth had to be made individually and set into the jaw.
"My client has had this piece in mind for eight years, so it was particularly enjoyable to be able to realise their vision. The result is quirky, unusual, and highly individual."
