The Government has applied for planning permission to extend and refurbish the children's play area next to Springfield Stadium to make it safer and more inclusive.
If plans are approved, new additions would include a wheelchair-friendly climbing frame, a new swing set, and an inclusive round-a-bout.
As well as replacing the tired play equipment, the makeover would increase the play space by extending the safety rubber surfacing, erecting log-walling, and re-routing the existing walkway.
The refurbishment is part of the Government's aims of prioritising children and encouraging them to live healthy lives, according to the application.

In a supporting document, the Infrastructure and Environment department said the proposed extended playground will be of greater community and island benefit than the existing facilities.
"[The current play equipment] no longer meets the standards," the document explained, adding that the proposed improvements were "exciting and stimulating" and "designed to the latest safety standards".
The application also said that the old play equipment, which is largely metal, will be recycled and the refurbishment will not reduce any green space or remove any existing vegetation or trees.
