Plans to deliver 151 new homes approved

Saturday 01 April 2017

Andium Homes say they are “delighted” to receive approval to develop 151 new homes in the final phase of the Le Squez re-development.

Following a Third Party Appeal heard on the 9 February the Minister for Planning and Environment has acknowledged the recommendations made by the Independent Planning Inspector.

Demolition of the old properties was completed last year and Andium Homes will start work immediately following receipt of the Planning Permit.

Mike Porter, Head of Operations said: “Once again we are delighted that plans have been approved and we can now commence work on this final stage. The further endorsement of this scheme by the Planning Applications Committee and Independent Planning Inspector clearly demonstrate the high standard of design and the much needed delivery of these 151 new homes will significantly contribute to Andium Homes’ commitment to deliver 1,000 affordable homes by 2020.”

The new homes will be a mix of one, two and three bedroom 'affordable' homes, and are intended to be generally free of surface car parking, where pedestrians and cyclists take priority in the streets and courtyards. The development will include community facilities and a dedicated community room.
