Plans to replace a stable with an "earth-friendly, future-proof family home" in St Ouen have been put forward.
The planning application has been submitted by Kimberly Le Brocq, who is hoping to build the property in the garden of her family home to the south of Champs Verts on Rue Militaire.
The site comprises a lawn, fencing and a recently-constructed stable — but would house a three-bedroom home if the scheme is approved.
Planning and building design consultant, Sean Osmand said that the client’s brief was to "provide an Earth-friendly, future-proof family home in the large garden of her family home".
He explained: "The proposed scheme provides ample scope to incorporate suitable roosting features for bats or nesting birds; 'bee bricks' will also be incorporated into the design.
"If the proposed dwelling is supported, then professional biodiversity and geodiversity advice will be sought and adhered to."
The new home would also come with a "highly insulated structure", including treble-glazed windows.
Mr Osmand said the property would be "extremely cost efficient to run and be kind to the environment."
He added: "The property has been designed to be simple in form and make provision for lifetime usage as the gym/office room could, if required, be used as a bedroom and the wet room is disabled accessible."
