He was a man who served the island for 37 years, in all three political offices. This week Constable Len Norman died at the age of 73.
Described by the Chief Minister as a "Jersey Statesman" Constable Norman won 10 successive elections starting in 1983, and running all the way through to 2018, after which he became Justice and Home Affairs Minister.
In this special edition of the Bailiwick Pod, I spoke to his brother, Les Norman, about their childhood growing up in 1950's Jersey, Len's business and political career, and what he thought about the major changes in island life which spanned a lifetime in politics.
Known for his dry wit and incisive mind, Constable Norman was also recognised for his strong support of those he represented. Here, his brother details the life of a politician, which will probably never be repeated.
