Police appeal for witnesses to alleged sex assault

Jersey Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault in Victoria Crescent over the weekend.

They say it was a serious assault, and is alleged to have taken place at a property early on Saturday morning.

The Police statement says:

"A group of three people, two women and a man, had been drinking at one of the local nightclubs before returning to Victoria Crescent, where one of the women from the group was then sexually assaulted in the property by an as yet unidentified man. 

"The police are appealing for any members of the public who may have witnessed a man matching the following description leaving the area of Victoria Crescent at around 02:30 on Saturday morning. The man is described as approximately 30 years old, dark wavy hair, dark eyes, tanned skin, with a Mediterranean appearance, average build, approximately six feet tall, wearing a short-sleeved burgundy buttoned shirt and possibly jeans or dark trousers.

"We would like to speak to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident and encourage anyone who was in the area of Victoria Crescent between 01:30 and 03:00 on Saturday morning to come forward and speak to us. They can speak to us directly in the CID office on 612000 or anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111."
