Jersey Police say they're investigating fraud claims in relation to the use of a States credit card.
They've released very few details but have confirmed a man in his 40s is helping them with their enquiries.
The man has not been named, and police say so far he hasn’t been arrested or charged with an offence.
States purchase or ‘credit’ cards are issued to a number of senior civil servants and to some States members. Strict guidelines dictate what the cards can and can’t be used for.
According to the government regulations (clause 2.2.1.3) for the use of a States purchase card, “…misuse of the card will result in the card holder facing disciplinary action, e.g. cardholders must not under any circumstances use their purchase card to fund personal expenditure.”
