Jersey and Guernsey police are appealing for information after a Condor passenger went missing during a sailing at the weekend.

Ebla Yusuf was aboard the Condor Clipper ferry that was travelling from Portsmouth to Jersey, via Guernsey on Saturday 22 July.

A large area of the English Channel between the Isle of Wight and Guernsey was searched by aircraft from the UK and France, as well as Channel Islands Air Search, but nothing was found.

In an appeal for information, police officers said that Ms Yusuf boarded the ferry in Portsmouth on foot and was last seen onboard at around 14:00, while the vessel was still in UK waters.

"There is nothing to indicate that Ebla disembarked in Guernsey or Jersey and after arrival in Jersey the crew conducted a full search of the boat and Ebla was not found," the force said.

"Police in both Jersey and Guernsey would like to speak to anyone who may have spoken to Ebla before or during the journey. Any information could assist the on-going search enquiries."

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Jersey police on 612612 or Guernsey police on 01481 222222, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form.
