A meeting of the Jersey's emergency planners was called this afternoon following a forecast of snow tomorrow, but islanders needn't jump for joy – or despair – just yet, as the tiny accumulations are apparently "unlikely" to affect schools or transport.
Earlier today Jersey Met issued a yellow snow warning, stating that an active frontal system will bring a period of rain and sleet on Thursday morning that could turn to snow "for a time".

In a statement issued this afternoon, the government said: "Following the issuing of a yellow warning for snow by Jersey Met, Jersey’s Emergency Planning team have met with key stakeholders and partner agencies."
It advised Islanders that the "potential temporary accumulations" of up to 5mm would be "unlikely" to affect public services, including buses and schools.
This spells a slightly different picture to the snowfall in January, when Jersey saw up to 3cm settle across the island.
