A teenage boy has had the probation order imposed on him revoked after the Youth Court decided it was not working.
The court was told that the teenager, who cannot be named due to his age, had been put on probation last year after a string of offences.
But he had failed to turn up for appointments and had been verbally abusive to a probation officer when he was there.
Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris told him: "To be actively offensive towards a lady that is trying to help you is just not acceptable, it’s as simple as that."
He decided to revoke the order, saying: "Probation hasn’t been a success."
The Assistant Magistrate imposed no alternative punishment.
