Grouville has seen the biggest increase in its population since the last Census in 2011 – rising from 4,886 people to 5,401 over the decade, an 11% change.
The eastern parish also has the second biggest population density outside the ‘urban three’ of St. Helier, St. Clement and St. Saviour.
After that trio, St. Brelade comes next with 830 people per km2 followed by Grouville with 658 residents per km2.
Next is St. Lawrence with a population density of 566 people per km2.
Grouville Constable John Le Maistre said he was not surprised that the parish had been the fastest growing over the last decade.
"There has been quite a lot of development since 2011: the old Jersey Pottery site, the former Old Court House Hotel and the De La Mare site spring to mind," he said.
Asked if Grouville's 'fast-growing' status justified the successful campaign by parishioners to remove fields earmarked for development from the Bridging Island Plan, Mr Le Maistre said: "Most of the developments have been open-market houses on brownfield sites, with only a few shared-equity at De La Mare, so the problem of not having enough affordable homes has not gone away."
Mr Maistre, who is not seeking re-election in June, said it would be an issue that his successor would have to address.
Returning to the Census, when it comes to total population, St. Helier accounts for over a third (35%) of the total population of 103,267, with 35,822 residents.

The parish has grown by 7% since 2011 and has a population density of 3,716 people per km2.
Next is St. Saviour with 13,904 people (13% of the total), although its population has only risen by 2% over the past decade.
St. Brelade has the third biggest population with 11,012 people (11% of the total), which has grown by 4% since 2011.

St. Clement is close behind with 9,925 people (10% of the total). Much smaller in area, though, the south-eastern parish has the second highest density after St. Helier with 2,262 people per km2.
This relative high density was certainly a factor when, last October, parishioners strongly objected to proposals to build on green fields in the parish – plans put forward by landowners which were not supported by neither parish representatives nor the independent inspectors reviewing the Bridging Island Plan.
Parishioners in the fastest growing parish, Grouville, also successfully campaigned to remove all fields earmarked for development.
Following Grouville, with its 11% change since the last Census, is St. Clement, which has grown by 8%. After that, there is St. Helier (7%); Trinity (6%); St. John, St. Peter and St. Martin (5%); St. Brelade and St. Mary (4%); St. Lawrence and St. Ouen (3%); with St. Saviour in the rear.
