Queues snake out the door as airport deals with rescheduled flights

Monday 07 August 2023

More than 1,400 passengers checked into Jersey Airport on Sunday morning after Saturday's high winds led to three flights being rescheduled, with queues of passengers stretching out of the building.

The check in process was also delayed as Jet2 had to manually verify all the boarding cards for all three of its rescheduled flights.

It was confirmed that both new security machines at the Airport were working well at the time.

A spokesperson for Ports of Jersey explained: "The high winds on Saturday led to three Jet2 flights being rescheduled for Sunday, which was already very busy.

"More than 1,400 passengers checked in between 06:00 and 08:30 on Sunday, which is a significant number for such a short time period."

They added: "Today the airport is running one old and one new X-Ray machine, so passengers are being directed to the most suitable machine for the hand luggage they are carrying."
