Jersey won a sensational away victory against Nottingham yesterday.
The 39-12 thumping was helped along by two tries by Tommy Bell in a Man-of-the-Match performance that saw him score 24 points, and the 27 point margin of victory is a Championship record.
The Reds now sit eighth out of 12 teams in the Greene King IPA Championship table, having taken one win, one draw and one loss from their opening three games.
This season is the first full one for coach Harvey Biljon, and he has spoken of the need for the team to assert themselves as a mainstay in the division, having been involved in a relegation dogfight that went down to the final match last season.
Jersey did the double over Nottingham last season, but the green-and-whites had enjoyed a perfect start to their season up until yesterday, with two wins from their opening two games.
The big win may have been across the water but JRFC received congratulatory tweets from two big fans – Chief Minister Ian Gorst, and the States of Jersey Police.
