Santa lands at the Airport

Saturday 03 December 2016

One special passenger will be hoping for clear skies this afternoon when he lands from Lapland.

Father Christmas is due in at 13:50 and you can expect a big crowd of youngsters in the Arrivals Hall at the airport to greet him.

It'll be a flying visit before he sets off at 14:20 on his customised sleigh for the start of the official tour of the Island as part of the annual Joint Christmas Appeal, organised by the Jersey Round Table.

Group Marketing and Communications Manager for Ports of Jersey, Alan Donald, said: "We look after many VIP guests at Jersey Airport, ranging from visiting royalty to rock stars but the arrival of Father Christmas is probably our most eagerly anticipated.

"We hope many children will join us on Saturday afternoon and help us give Father Christmas a proper Jersey welcome."

The man in red will be hoping there's no slip ups this year as he's still not lived down the infamous "Santa-Gate" incident at the Airport back in 2010. If you didn't catch it, you can see it here - a clip that's already been viewed online over 30,000 times!
