Jersey gardeners will have an opportunity to swap seeds and exchange tips as part of a new Repair Café initiative.
Taking place at tomorrow's St Brelade Repair Café, The Seed Swap has been created to fill the gap left after the discontinuation of 'Seedy Sundays'.
Deputy Montfort Tadier, who helped organise the event alongside the Repair Café team, said that, as well as inviting islanders to bring seeds they no longer wanted, there would also be pots and gardening tips and advice.
Deputy Tadier highlighted the financial and environmental benefits of growing one’s own food.
“Even if one does not have a garden, there are still lots that one can grow in pots, planters and even on the windowsill," he said.
The seed swap and repair café is taking place at St Brelade’s Parish Hall from 9.30am to 1pm.
