Spaces get tighter in town

Friday 17 October 2014

Parking in town is getting even harder from this weekend as St Helier loses more spaces to make way for the Island's new cop shop.

Drivers won’t be able to park in the open ground-floor area of Green Street car park from 9 pm tonight.

Work on the new Police Headquarters is being carried out by local company, Rok-Regal Construction and will include extending the third floor of the car park to create 64 new spaces.

When the extension is finished the multi-storey will have 673 spaces but in the meantime drivers will have to find a space elsewhere if they can't get parked in any of the indoor spaces on the ground floor.

The work should be finished by the end of 2016.
