Specialist divers arrive in Jersey to assist search for missing islander

Saturday 25 February 2023

Specially trained divers from Avon and Somerset Police have arrived in Jersey as the police continue their search for missing islander Thomas Frost, who disappeared two weeks ago.

The 51-year-old has not been seen since he left his parents’ house in L’Etacq at around on the night of Saturday 11 February.

In a statement, the police said divers would "start searching specific areas of water, identified within the search parameter".

A 750-metre search radius has been set up in St Ouen around the address where Mr Frost was last seen, with the States police saying extensive searches were taking place, including house to house enquiries at every property within the area.

Over 60 officers and staff have been involved in the investigation over the last two weeks, according to the police, who said they had "worked on 212 actions" from intelligence received from enquiries and public appeals.

Mr Frost is described as being 5ft 10, of medium build with greying hair. It’s believed that he is wearing a crimson red t-shirt underneath a navy shirt with white buttons and navy jeans. He also may be wearing a light grey hoodie over his shirt and it is still thought that he didn’t have shoes on him when he disappeared.

The force is asking the public to check any private CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell footage they may have for any sign of someone who may be Mr Frost and to search any out-buildings, sheds, garages and other outdoor areas.

Anyone who needs assistance to search these areas, can contact police, who will assist.

Anyone with information should call police on 01534 612612, option 2, option 4.
