States Chamber 'moves' to Fort Regent

Friday 20 March 2020

Politicians will be moving from the States Chamber to Fort Regent for their next meeting to provide them with more space to practice social distancing.

Seating in Gloucester Hall will be configured to ensure States Members are at least a metre away from each other, following new guidelines that all islanders must practice social distancing to help curb the spread of covid-19.

The meeting will therefore be closed to the public, but it will be live streamed via the States Assembly website.

The next meeting will see States Members discuss and vote on a £180m support package put forward by the Economic Development Minister to help see local businesses through the public health emergency.

The Minister will be revealing more about the proposed support measures in a press conference this afternoon, which you can watch LIVE on Express's Facebook page at 15:30.
