This year's summer drink driving campaign was launched by Jersey Police over the weekend with the tagline 'you can't hide from the summertime blues'.
Both the States and Honorary Police will be increasing the number of drink drive road checks to crack down on the high number of drink driving offences in the summer months.
The campaign will run for two weeks and is part of the Police's initiative 'Let's look out for each other' which aims to promote safer road use for both motorists and pedestrians in collaboration with the Road Safety Panel and the Honorary Police.
Acting Inspector Paul Smith from the States of Jersey Police said:“We want to see significant reductions in the number of people who choose to drink and drive and we would ask that anyone with information concerning those who continue to put us all at risk by drink driving contact us on 612612 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Significantly, half of those arrested during last year’s summer campaign were as a result of information passed to us by the public.”
