This weekend's Sunset Concerts have both been cancelled due to adverse weather – and "it is not anticipated" that they will be rescheduled this year.
The National Trust for Jersey confirmed this afternoon that the 1,700 people who had purchased tickets will receive a full refund, minus booking fees.
It is not anticipated that the Sunset Concerts will be rescheduled in 2024, according to the Trust.
However, the charity hopes to stage a series of smaller musical events at the newly acquired Seaside Café at Grève de Lecq this year.
Donna Le Marrec, Marketing and Events Manager for the Trust, said: “It is such a shame to have to cancel the Sunset Concerts as so much goes into the planning and delivery of these events and we rarely if ever cancel activity.
"However, the weather is beyond our control, and it wouldn’t be pleasant for concert goers or the bands and technical teams if the weather is as predicted.
"We are sincerely sorry for any disappointment this will cause attendees.”
Organised by The National Trust for Jersey – and supported for the first time this year by the Jersey Opera House – the concerts are staged each summer to raise money for the Trust’s coastline campaign.
