Two men were arrested last night for starting two furze fires on the Island earlier this week.
The 19 and 21 year-old are believed to have caused the fires in St Ouen and St Brelade on Monday.
Firefighters were called to the first at Les Landes just before 2 am when someone in Guernsey spotted the blaze from there.
They were then called out just before 8 pm to the second fire at Petit Port.
It took them nearly five hours to put out both fires that together measured the size of a football pitch.
Police have been patrolling both areas since Monday to try and catch the culprits.
They say both men are currently assisting them with their enquiries.
