It may have just been named one of Britain's top outdoor bathing spots in a best-selling book...But swimmers are being warned to steer well clear of Havre des Pas after sewage entered the beach area.
Environmental Health said this afternoon that it was urging the public not to use the lido's swimming pool "following an issue with the area's pumping station after it reached capacity following a deluge of rainfall, resulting in sewerage entering the beach near to the pool."
They continued: "The pumping station is now up and running but bathers are being advised to wait a couple of days until the pool has been refilled a number of times by the incoming tide.
"The Lifeguard service stationed at the pool is advising the public not to swim at this time and Officers from Environmental Health have put up signage to notify the public about the incident."
Pictured: The pool has just been featured in best-selling book, 'The Lido Guide'.
The news comes just as the iconic Art Deco spot has been listed in 'The Lido Guide' - a book which recently reached the top of Amazon's best-seller list.
Speaking to Express, one of the guide's authors, Emma Pusill, described Havre des Pas pool as "an essential stop on the itinerary of any swimmer visiting the Channel Islands from the UK."
