Graham Truscott joins Montfort Tadier in St Brelade No 2 district in a race that saw seven candidates vying for just two seats.
Truscott topped the poll with 1,073 votes, followed by Deputy Tadier with 890 – meaning that even with 760 votes, easily enough to win election in most districts, Natalie Duffy missed out.
Deputy Tadier had stood under the Reform Jersey banner in the district. He has already served two terms in the area, which covers the Les Quennevais district.
The vacant seat was left by Deputy Sean Power, who is tonight seeking “promotion” to the Senatorial benches.
The unsuccessful candidates included former Deputy Peter Troy, whose attempt at a political comeback fell flat, coming in fifth place.
