Town Church service to give thanks to the Queen

Tuesday 13 September 2022

A service of prayer and thanksgiving will be held to celebrate the life of Her Majesty in Jersey this weekend.

Led by the Dean of Jersey and attended by Bailiff Sir Timothy Le Cocq, the service will take place at St. Helier Parish Church, beginning at 10:00 on Saturday.

As well as invited guests, the service will also be open to the public.

For those who cannot make it, it will be livestreamed on social media.

The service precedes Her Majesty's State Funeral, which will be a bank holiday on Monday 19 September.

In Jersey, it will be streamed in Parish Halls and hospitality venues are also being encouraged by the Bailiff's Chamber to stay open and broadcast the funeral.

The Bailiff will be in attendance at the ceremony in London, which starts at 11:00, in his capacity as Acting Lieutenant-Governor for the island.

You can find out more about how the island will be marking the day here.
