This weekend marks the first Italian culture and food festival to take place in Jersey in over 20 years.
Jersey Association of Italian Culture (JAIC), in conjunction with Jersey Gas, will be hosting the two-day festival this weekend at People’s Park.
Italian chef, Gino D’Acampo will be attending the festival, and doing cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend.
The new festival is intended to be a quality family friendly event with a range of different cultural activities which will appeal to all.
Local Italian food providers will be present as well as a static vehicle display by Polar Auto Italia and Ferrari agent along with Vespa and Piaggio. The Italian bike specialist Wilier, through Big Maggie's, will also be hosting fitness testing throughout this weekend.
Recognizing that no festival would be complete without music, Viva Italia have scheduled performances from a barber's shop quartet, a pianist, an aria singer and an Italian jazz band.
There will also be fashion and cinematic events with one local film-producer with Italian heritage premiering their documentary on Italian families in Jersey.
The event is scheduled to take place today and Sunday and is sponsored by Jersey Gas, Sure and iPOP Digital.
