Broadcaster turned Assistant Economic Development Minister Murray Norton is on a panel facing questions from the public at an open 'Any Questions' on Thursday.

Deputy Norton will be on the panel alongside Jersey Consumer Council President Rose Colley, Robert Ward from the National Union of Teachers, Island Games logistics organiser Andy Jehan and St John Constable Chris Taylor.

The event is being organised by independent campaign group Change Jersey, and takes place from 7.30 pm to 9 pm at St John’s Parish Hall on Thursday.

Change Jersey Head of Communications James Rondel said that the events put politicians and public figures in front of the public with no script and no advance notice of questions, adding that let the public dictate the theme and focus of the event, rather than the politicians or the media.

Mr Rondel said: “I’m pleased to see these debates continue into the spring and summer.

“I really do hope that Islanders turn out and get their questions off their chest, as we have a varied panel who I am sure will be able to offer a wide range of comments to questions and comments alike.”

The event will be chaired by ITV Channel’s Gary Burgess.
