This is an incredibly sad day for so many around the world who admired Queen Elizabeth II for her lifetime of public service. It is unlikely we will ever see such dedication from a head of state again in our lifetimes.

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II was the Queen before I was born. I can recall seeing her on TV as a teenager. I thought of her as the beloved grandmother of the nation. My deepest sympathies are with the Royal family. May she rest in peace.

Her Majesty leaves behind 4 children, and despite how old they may be, to lose a parent must be an unimaginable pain, even when we anticipate it.

Nobody in public office , however diminutive, can fail to conceal being emotionally moved by the death of Her Majesty the Queen. Her assiduous dedication to duty for 70 years has gone well beyond the call of duty and that deserves the deepest admiration. pic.twitter.com/p0qBKKGZhB

We should not forget that behind the public rôle of Monarch, was a remarkable woman in her own right, a real human being.
