Two new, and two old faces returned in St Helier 3 and 4

Thursday 17 May 2018

Two sitting deputies - Richard Rondel and Mike Higgins - have been joined by two new faces - Mary Le Hegarat and Steve Ahier - in the joint St Helier district of 3 and 4.

With two of the four sitting deputies not seeking re-election in the parish there was always going to be at least two new faces - but with 10 candidates fighting it out for the much sought after seats it was always likely to be a tightly fought battle.

Deputy Richard Rondel topped the poll with 1,404, followed by Deputy Mike Higgins with 1,190, Mary Le Hegarat in third with 1,173, and Steve Ahier in fourth with 1,020.

Inna Gardiner polled 903, Jacqui Carrel 861, Anne Southern 790, Mary Ayling-Philip 706, Julian Rogers 631, and Guy de Faye 477.

There were 9,154 votes cast, there were 24 spoilt votes and a 35% turnout.
