A former footballer who was captain for both Manchester United and the France national team paid a visit to Jersey earlier this week – and even led a birthday song for one lucky student.
Patrice Evra was the guest speaker at Les Quennevais School's annual Sports Award Dinner on Thursday evening.
Despite his tough early life, the legendary footballer went on to captain Manchester United and France.
He won five Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League during his time at Manchester United from 2006 to 2014.
Although Mr Evra retired from sport five years ago, he is now a successful entrepreneur with his 'I Love This Game' brand, a motivational speaker, and an influential social media personality.

Les Quennevais School said that the sporting star spoke to students about the importance of respect and making the most of every opportunity you are given during his time in Jersey.
Mr Evra thanked the local students for making his visit so special, and explained using his platform as a force for good is a privilege and his passion now.
Les Quennevais student Ryan Hall celebrated his 16th birthday in style at the Sports Award Dinner, with Mr Evra leading guests in a rousing chorus of 'Happy Birthday'.
Posting on social media after the event, Mr Evra said: "Thank you so much for having me it’s been a bless filled day, and I’ll never forget this moment so I hope you enjoy as well.
"Meeting and inspiring children is my purpose, and something that I will continue to put my heart into."
