Bigger, brighter and more 'connected' than ever, the revamped Digital Jersey Hub has opened its doors to the local tech-heads.
Space at The Hub has doubled, with additional hot desks, permanent office space, more meeting rooms and a larger events space.
Based in the Forum building, the Hub recently underwent a revamp to represent the next chapter in the evolution of the island’s tech sector.

Over the past five years, it has proved a vital part in Digital Jersey's work to grow the local digital industry and raise its profile globally, acting as a focal point for those in the sector to collaborate on projects and ideas, and to share expertise.
Many local digital start-ups, including Snap creative and Virtex Studios have used the desk spaces available at the Hub before moving on to new pastures. International entrepreneurs, who’ve gone on to choose Jersey as the place to develop their business, also used the Hub where the Digital Jersey team guide them through the process and connect them with relevant figures in the public and private sectors.

Following the revamp, Digital Jersey is hoping to increase their offering for members with a greater number of workshops, training sessions and networking events.
Digital Jersey CEO Tony Moretta said: “The Hub has been many months in the planning and build stage, and having seen the finished result it has all been worth the wait. We want The Hub to be a place where everybody working in Jersey’s growing tech sector feels welcome, can find like-minded people to problem solve or work with when required, and where a programme of events will help connect members to ideas and opportunities.”

The Government announced plans for a £4million cash boost for Digital Jersey in its plan for 2020 to 2023. The suggestion to increase the digital development agency’s funding for the first time in five years comes as part of the government’s ambition to “create a sustainable, vibrant economy and skilled workforce for the future".
As detailed in the document, the additional funding required is as follows:
The Government Plan says this will cover “baseline running costs for the expanded Digital Jersey Hub” and “grow Digital Jersey’s capability” by increasing the marketing budget as well as expanding the team, adding a ‘FinTech Ambassador’, a ‘Head of Technology’, a ‘Head of Operations’, a ‘Business Development Manager’ and a ‘Project Manager'.
